Is my order Tax Exempt?

Schools, government agencies, nonprofits and resellers can apply for sales tax exemption through their state. Below are the most common questions we get.

Does DTF Town charge sales tax?
Yes, applicable state and local sales tax is added at checkout. If your order qualifies for exemption and your certificate has been approved on file, no tax will be charged.
My organization is tax exempt. How can sales tax be removed from my order?
Sales tax exemptions are determined by each state. Schools, nonprofits and government entities must provide a valid, state-issued exemption certificate. Upload it through your account using the form above and our team will review and approve it before you place your next order.
Where can I find or get a tax exemption certificate?
Approved organizations receive a state-issued certificate of exemption. Check with your finance team or request one directly from your state's tax department. Most states issue the document as a PDF you can download and upload here.
Where can I manage my tax exemption?
View your status any time from your account page — the Tax Exemption tile takes you right back here. Once a document is approved it stays on file; to update or remove it, contact info@dtftown.com.
How long does approval take?
Most certificates are reviewed within 1–2 business days. Some permit numbers are verified automatically the moment you submit and you'll see the “Approved” status immediately.
